Trump said he wanted to immediately discuss the cooperation between Washington and Paris after Macron's election.
"Congratulations to Emmanuel Macron on this big day as the next president of France, I will immediately see him," Trump said in an official Twitter account on Sunday (7/5) French time.
Meanwhile German Chancellor Angela Merkel uttered via Twitter account "Congratulations, @EmmanuelMacron Your victory is a victory for a strong and united Europe and for French-German relations."
A spokesman for Downing Street, at the office of British Prime Minister Theresa May said France is one of the closest alliances and we are waiting for a partnership with the new president on various priorities between Britain and France.
EU Council President Donald Tusk also congratulated him on saying France had voted for 'freedom, equality and brotherhood'.
Macron himself in his live broadcast and watched on the grounds of the Louvre Museum said he would take quick steps to unite all the parties, both left and right parties and bring EU institutions closer to the people of Europe.
"I really understand the differences that exist in this country, not a few voters who are members of extremist parties, I respect them," he said, in Paris.
"I will work equally on Europe and people around the world, between Europe and its inhabitants," Macro was quoted as saying by Reuters.
