Those are the few points of sale for the Fyre Festival, a fancy musical event originally scheduled to start in the Bahamas on Thursday, with "first class culinary experience and a luxurious atmosphere," along with performances by G.O.O.D. Music, Major Lazer, Migos and more.
Promoted by Instagram influencers including Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski as V.I.P. Which has never been seen before. Events, meetings - with weekend ticket packages starting at about $ 1,200 and reaching six digits with extras - are supposed to compete in an increasingly complex landscape of boutique music festivals that have sprung up from Coachella.
But when guests arrive on the island of Great Exuma for the inaugural weekend, they find something closer to "Survivor": a very less reason at the promised facility, replaced by dirt fields, wet tents and folding chairs.
On social media, where the Fyre Festival is sold as a haven for yourself, the account shows no aspirational A-lister excess, with only sad sandwiches and alcohol free to calm anxious crowds. The general disappointment soon turned into panic when the festival was canceled and the participants attempted to escape back to the Florida mainland.
