Facebook and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children collaborated to launch 'Amber Alerts'.
Facebook in cooperation with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to send "Amber Alerts" to help find the missing children. How does the alarm work?
"Amber Alerts" will post the missing child's announcement to a user's Facebook page domiciled near the child's last seen area. The announcement will include detailed information about the child, including photos, skin color, weight, height, eye and hair color, when last seen, and more.
Users can also share the announcement with their friends on Facebook to disseminate it. "When the community receives this alarm over the phone, we want them to look around and find out if they can contribute to bringing back the kidnapped child."

John Walsh, co-founder of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, responded positively to this partnership. He believes this help can increase the expectations of parents who lose their children.
"Most children, who will be murdered by criminals, will be killed as soon as possible within a few hours," explained Walsh. "It gives hope to the children and to the parents."
Meanwhile, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also posted a status for this movement. In his post, Zuck stated that he is eager to help his community to regroup with their families.
"Over the past few years, we've seen people use Facebook to help find children who have been kidnapped," Zuck wrote. "It inspires our team here to build better tools so you can use Facebook to help reunite the family."
