Spain Can Support Related International Catalonia

The Spanish government gained international support, particularly its allies in Europe and the US after Catalonia declared its independence on Friday (27/10).

The Catalonia declares independence is suspected to threaten stability between Spain and the European Union.

Not long ago from the news of the declaration, some countries expressed their opinions and support for Spain. Reported by AFP, the following countries include:

European Union

EU President Donald Tusk said nothing had changed after the Catalonia declaration of independence. They still regard Spain as their 'only talker'. The EU also hopes the Spanish government can take action, not just argue.

The head of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Junker also warned of the 'possible' danger in the EU.

Meanwhile, Brussels some time ago confirmed that chaotic Catalonia and their refrendum is illegal.

United States of America

US State Department spokesman Heather Nauert said the United States has made friendship and cooperation with Spain. They regard Catalonia as 'part of Spain', and continue to support the Spanish government to remain 'united and strong'.

German

Germany also 'does not consider' Catalonia's unilateral declaration of independence, a German government spokesman said. They also advocated a dialogue between Spain and Catalonia.

"The integrity and sovereignty of Spain will always be inviolable," said spokeswoman Steffen Seibert via Twitter account. "We hope there is a chance for dialogue and dampen the chaos."

France

French President Emmanuel Macron fully supports Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.

"I only have one partner in Spain, that is PM Rajoy ... He wants to convince the government to enforce the existing constitutional rules, so he gets my full support," Macron said on his visit to French Guiana.

Britain 'did not want and will not' regard the unilateral declaration of independence of Catalonia, as spokesperson Prime Minister Theresa May said.

" It (the declaration of independence) is based on illegal voting under Spanish law. We want to see how the rule of law is still upheld, and appreciated. "
